Claire McMillan passed away on 26 January 2026, aged 51, after living with oesophageal cancer for almost four years.

Through everything she faced, Claire never lost her sense of humour or her determination to make the most of every day. She brought light and strength to the people around her, even in the most difficult times.

Her family have set up a JustGiving page in Claire’s memory to raise money for OCHRE, in the hope that it might help spare other families a similar journey.

The response has been remarkable. Almost 300 people have donated, raising over £13,000 for oesophageal cancer research and awareness.
